We've had it on the front page for a while now that we are looking for additional board members and additional people to get involved. We get asked frequently what being on the board entails. First of all, as far as time commitments go, we have approximately one meeting a month of about an hour or so, and the meetings are held in Grove City. At the moment, we have two fishing events and one fundraiser, typically held in the fall. The second question we typically get asked is "what can I do?", as many of our new board members have not served on a board before. That's a pretty fair question and the answer is lies in an understanding of what we do so you can know how you can help. FHNB is looking for additional board members who have any of the following skills: enthusiasm for fishing, enthusiasm for life or know other people that might have enthusiasm for life and or fishing. So in essence, we are looking for positive people can help us spread our message and improve. Being an expert fisherman is definitely not a requirement, (ask Matt Smith). Contact us for more details.

That's over 1000 envelopes, (yes we still include a return envelope), 4000 forms and over 500 stamps. One of the largest expenses for our group is printing and postage and it also takes volunteers many hours to stuff, address and stamp envelopes. It's a labor of love for sure. For the first time ever, our forms can now be downloaded right from the website, under the "contact us" section. Also, last year we started capturing email addresses on the registration forms. Electronic communication saves money plus it's better for the environment and a faster, more efficient way to communicate. You can help out by giving is your email address when you send back your form!
Its that time of year again, time for our Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction. Anyone that has ever put on an event like this knows there is a ton of hard work that goes into making the event a success. Our board members have been scouring the internet and pounding the pavement to collect silent auction items. Here is a list of all the items that our folks were able to procure for this year's event.
